Continuing business as usual means heading to a world we can’t predict, far beyond our adaption abilities.

Nothing is going to change if we don’t change it, but are we ready to do it? Do we want to do it?

As Shakespeare would say “comparisons are odorous”, but why does no one scream blue murder when a man decides not to have children? What if we claim he is denying the use of his sperm for its real biological purpose? Men are allowed to have other aspirations in life without having to handle a public debate about such a personal decision. However, women are scathed if they do not accomplish their assigned mission of conceiving.

Often when someone sets a boundary, they are swiftly accused of being a softy, rude, too serious, too difficult and inflexible, no fun or even boring. But don’t be fooled, that’s not true. Be polite but stand up for yourself. Evildoers don’t like it when we fight back.

What can we do? Violence is never the answer, but neither is doing nothing. Many times, unfortunately, the legal instruments our democracies give us are not enough to protect or fight for our beliefs.
