The UN International Organization for Migration estimates that there will be 1 billion environmental migrants in the next 30 years. The mass migration that has already started and will continue in the coming decades is a phenomenon we have never seen before. Suffering, hunger, or curiosity won’t be the reasons behind uprooted people from their homes. Humans migrating will be running away from extinction. 🌏💚

Denying the existence of genocide, minimising the facts, not recognising historical genocide’s victims and seeing it as something from the past gives a sense of impunity to those leading barbaric acts nowadays. In addition to that, our “democratic” leaders have to be brave and not sell out to economic or geopolitical interests when armed conflicts, wars and genocides strike any of our planet Earth compatriots. We are all part of the human race and the genocide of any nation is equally dreadful.

The arts can illustrate feelings, saying how we feel inside in ways we cannot express through words. That’s what makes them so special, they share the abstraction and intensity of our emotions, making them a unique tool for healing.
